Medical Trust: With the objective of establishing a much-needed hospital for Kayalpatnam and the surrounding villages, Kayalpatnam Medical Trust was formed by respectable and philanthropic residents of Kayalpatnam. This trust is a charitable organization registered under Indian Trust Act in the year 1984 (Registration No. 114 of 1984). Being charitable in its objectives and a non-profit organization, it enjoys exemption u/s 12A (a) of the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961

Hospital: K.M.T. Hospital was inaugurated on 4th March 1990 in Kayalpatnam town. It is located in 10 acres of prime land on the Tuticorin – Tiruchendur Highway. This hospital is the sole medical centre available to the residents of the area with fairly good facilities. It is a great boon to the people of Kayalpatnam locality.

MANAGEMENT: The trust is managed by 130 trustees drawn from the prominent and highly respected citizens of Kayalpatnam town. All the trustees are well to do people, most of them hailing from the business community and other professions like Medicine, Accountancy, Engineering and Law. All of them are committed to the cause of welfare of the people.
